Medical technology continues to advance to prevent hereditary diseases. From early amniocentesis to today's pre-pregnancy carrier screening, prospective parents can understand potential genetic risks before pregnancy.
The team led by Professor Sun Hsiao-fang at Center for Genomic Medicine in National Cheng Kung University has developed a comprehensive screening solution that can detect 221 genes and 247 disease clinical symptoms with just one blood draw, greatly improving testing convenience and accuracy.
Even when both prospective parents are found to be carriers, modern technology offers solutions.
